I just wanted to reach out to you about ACCE’s AMAZING experience with Maple Ridge Events for their Annual Conference this past month. From the beginning, both Crystal and I were very impressed with Robyn’s response to the RFP and her creative ideas for the CMA inspired ACCE Awards Show. We knew that we were going to have a good experience when we selected Maple Ridge Events, but we received so much more than just a “good” experience. Robyn and Marie went above and beyond for ACCE and this was by far, the best experience we have ever had with a DMC. No matter what challenges arose and despite the many, many changes we went through for the Awards Show only days before we were arriving on show site, Marie handled it like a pro. I cannot say Thank You enough for helping ACCE to give their attendees an experience in Nashville that they will never forget! I only wish that I could work with these ladies on every show!

Just wanted to pass on some comments regarding our recent group incentive to USA managed by Maple Ridge Events, Nashville. Our original contact through Hosts Global Alliance, who in turn passed us over to Maple Ridge Events to act as our DMC for the group.

MRE responded to our brief and were creative with their suggestions on how to better enhance the programme and how to develop it the way the client envisaged. I conducted two site visits in 2016 with them. The first was on my own, where we mapped out a draft of the programme and narrowed the accommodation down, then the second was with the client where we further developed and then finally signed off on the programme. Both site visits were well managed, maximising our time on the ground ensuring we covered all aspects of the programme in the time we had available.

The first of the disasters to hit this programme occurred just prior to Christmas 2016 when the Lodge we were to use in the Great Smokey Mountains burnt down in the wild fires that hit that area. This then meant a total rethink of the “road trip” portion of the trip, locating a new hotel a suitable distance from Nashville and a redraft of that portion of the programme. MRE came up with a good alternative and I then made a “flying” site visit to check out the new route and the new hotel.

In the finalisation of the event, just prior to my departure from NZ, I did experience some frustration in getting final costings from MRE, especially for the final portion of the event, however this was remedied. Effectively they were having similar frustrations with the hotel that was the replacement for the lodge.

Hurricane Harvey was the next disaster to hit this event. We ended up with two delegates and partners stranded in Houston (they ended up never joining the group and flew straight home as soon as the airport opened) and our group flight ex Auckland diverted to Los Angeles. The airport in Houston closed after the group flight had departed from NZ.

With no flights for 60 pax LAX/Memphis, Air New Zealand were able to arrange for the group to get to Nashville. MRE, the client and myself were at this stage in Memphis, therefore it was a quick trip to Nashville to be on hand to receive the delegates on arrival.

At this point MRE really came to the fore and worked tirelessly with us over the next 7 days to solve one problem after another. They secured coaches, cancelled bookings, rearranged functions and generally did everything we asked of them as we totally redesigned the programme so as to ensure that the delegates did not miss any of the experiences we had planned for them. As you can imagine in a situation such as this there were a number of items that got missed or only remembered at the last minute and on every occasion MRE worked with us to find a solution, be it at times at considerable inconvenience to themselves. Feedback from the delegates throughout and since has been highly complementary of MRE, as has the clients and his CEO.

I would fully recommend that any future referrals you have for the Tennessee or the surrounding area be placed with Maple Ridge Events. Staff and management were attentive and helpful. On site management was detailed and as referred to above, nothing was too much for them in their working to make the event a success.

Finally the MRE staff who worked with me on the programme, Pat and Lynn were exceptional and a pleasure to work with.

As an aside, in Penny’s 30 years in the industry and my 20 years this will go down as the one to remember, there has never been one like it and I hope never will.
