Sales Manager

Maple Ridge Events, a leader in Nashville’s event & meeting industry is seeking a charismatic, experienced sales professional to fill their Sales Manager position. We want a trailblazer looking to grow our company and take it to the next level through industry connections, perseverance and motivated by exceeding sales goals. Ideal candidates will have a strong sales background, team-player mentality and be a natural working a room. Someone who loves to be in the know for a happening “it” city and a hidden talent for karaoke is a bonus.

Position Name: Sale Manager

Position Manager: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Position Purpose: The Sales Manager promotes, solicits and sells the services of Maple Ridge Events to prospective market customers ensuring full client satisfaction


  • Develops and defines short and long-term goals, including development of solicitation programs; up-selling techniques, tools and goals; professional and personal development; continued education through industry related journals, publications, memberships and meetings
  • Ensures that company goals, objectives, marketing, sales goals and customer satisfaction goals are met, resulting in continued customer satisfaction and company profitability
  • Follows all company policies and procedures as an example to others
  • Establishes and maintains lines of communication throughout Maple Ridge Events
  • Keeps morale and pride in Maple Ridge Events as high as possible



  • Responsible for generating leads that result in increasing the yearly gross sales of Maple Ridge Events by achieving assigned sales goal
  • Sales calls to prospective clients within his/her assigned market keeping accurate records and documentation of all conversations and pertinent client information
  • Develops plan to complete a proposal based on the needs of client to ensure complete satisfaction with products and services within the time outlined
  • Acknowledges receipt of leads and RFP’s within 24 hours
  • Works directly with Creative Services and Operations departments within the guidelines set forth
  • Oversees the production of detailed and professional proposals
  • Ensures costing sheets are accurate to product sold
  • Establishes, maintains and continually updates records of client activities and updates client requests, changes, additions and deletions in company database and CRM software
  • Conducts site inspections and assists with client events held for solicitation purposes; attends hotel preconvention meetings when requested
  • After the sale, continues high level personal contact with client for the purpose of quality control, complete client satisfaction and to promote repeat business
  • Maintains high level of multi-tasking skills and management of multiple programs at one time
  • Actively involved in industry organizations while professionally representing and promoting services to potential customers
  • Attends and gives pertinent feedback during weekly sales meeting and bi-weekly Staff Meeting; provides all necessary information in order to effectively discuss all items shown on agenda



  • Proven track record for consistently achieving sales goals with a minimum of 2 years experience in a sales driven position
  • Effective decision maker; excellent solicitation, negotiation and closing abilities
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • High level of multi-tasking skills and management of multiple programs, proposals and contracts simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with ability to operate independently
  • Strong organizational skills with recognizable attention to detail and creativity
  • Timely and responsive to customers, vendors, peers and Leadership
  • Outstanding communication: written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Strong computer skills with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience delivering strong sales presentations
  • Active involvement in industry organizations furthering the promotion of Maple Ridge Events, new leads and potential business
  • Recognizable accountability and responsibility
